Jack Pfeiffer's Corner
The Age of Living Stereo
In the last years of his life, Jack Pfeiffer traveled to London, Hamburg and Tokyo to give a personal presentation to audiophiles about Living Stereo. On these rare occasions, he spoke about the genesis of stereo recording and the artists who participated in the revolutionary Living Stereo sessions. He illustrated his talk with rare audio examples from the Golden Age, many of which have never been heard on records.
Classic Records is pleased to present The Age of Living Stereo, Jack's remembrance of the Golden Age.
Enjoy!
The audio clips Jack provided for The Age of Living Stereo are quite rare; most of them have never been available to the public before in any format. As you might expect, the fidelity of these sounds is very important - to us, and, we're positive, to you too.
The clips (avg. 30-40 sec.) have been digitized as 16-bit stereo, 22kHz. As a result, they are rather large (1.5 - 4.0 Mb). We've presented each one in .WAV (Windows), .AU (Sun/Next) and .AIF (Macintosh) formats. It might take you a while to download them, but they are worth it - we promise!
